Educational Awards 

Since 1997, every year SNDP Delhi Union has been giving Educational Scholarship to the children’s of SNDP members who had topped in Class X & Class XII Final examinations.  The main aim of these awards were to encourage the students. During the last AGM, it was decided to give “Prolsahana samanam” to the students who had obtained 90% and above marks in any subject in the final examination of Class X & Class XII.

The following students who passed out with highest marks in Class X & Class XII in the academic year 2007 – 2008 have been selected for scholarship 2008.   The students would be given the awards during the 154th Guru Jayanti Celebrations at Sree Narayana Nagar, Yugantar Hall, NTPC Complex, Badarpur, New Delhi by eminent cine artist and Chairm Kerala Horticulture Development Corporation, Shri E A Rajendran, on 14th September, 2008.

NOTIFICATION

No.F.8(6)2000-01/DSCST/SCP/OBC/11677- Whereas the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, vide Department of Welfare of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes Notification No.F.28(93)/91-92/SCST/P&S/109, dated 20th April, 1993, had constituted a commission known as "Commission for Other Backward Classes" to examine requests for inclusion of any class of citizens as a backward class in the list and hear complaints of over-inclusion or under-inclusion of any backward class in such lists.

And whereas on the recommendation of the above said Commission, 53 Castes/Communities were notified for inclusion in the list of Other Backward Classes for Delhi vide Notification No.F.28(93)/91-92/SCST/P&S/4384, dated the 20th January, 1995 and whereas the "Jat" caste/community was further included in the list of Other Backward Classes for Delhi vide Notification No.F.8./11/99-2000/DSCST/SCP/OBC/2855, dated the 31st May, 2000 on the basis of recommendation made by the said Commission for Other Backward Classes in the Second Report.

And whereas the above said Commission has submitted its Third and Fourth reports recommending certain castes/communities for inclusion in the OBC list for Delhi; and whereas the recommendations of the Commission were accepted by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi in toto.

Now, therefore, with the approval of the Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment conveyed vide their letter No.12011/5/2002-BCC, dated the 17th October, 2003, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, hereby notifies to include the following Castes/Communities in the State list of Other Backward Classes of National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely:-

13th April 2003

SNDP Union, Delhi is formally inaugurated in Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi by Shri. Vellappally Natesan, General Secretary, SNDP Yogam.

This Website is also inaugurated in the same event by Sri. K.R. Balan, President, SNDP Tirur Union

The SNDP Delhi Union has celebrated the 154th Guru Jayanti on 14th September, 2008 at Sree Narayana Guru Nagar, Yugantar Hall, NTPC Township, Badarpur, New Delhi attended by more than 1500 members from 23 Sakhas.  The function was inaugurated by Shri E A Rajendran, emeinent Actor, Director and Chairman Kerala State Horticulture Development Corporation, Tiruvanathapuram.  The function was preceded by a Colourful Procession by members of all Sakahas.  Please visit photo gallery for pictures.

The Delhi Union has conducted the 5th Inter Sakha Sports Meet on 2nd October, 2008 at Vinay Marg Sports Complex, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.  273 participants in 49 events took part in the sports meet, the Uttam Nagar Sakha won the Everolling Champinship Tropy, Mayur Vihar Phase-III Sakhas was runner up, the Vikaspuri Sakha came 3rd.  The event was co-ordinated by the Mayur Vihar Sakha Phase-III, Shri S Subhash was the convenor of the Sports Meet.

The Union will be organising 5th Inter Sakha Cultural Meet on 2nd & 9th November, 2008 at Kerala School, R K Puram, New Delhi.  The programme include Essay Competition, Drawing & Painting Competition on 2nd Nov'08 and Bharatanatyam, Mohinyattam, Nadodi Nritham, Classical Songs, Lalithaganam, Gurudeva Krithikal, Group Song, Thiruvathira and Cinematic Dance on 9th Nov'08.  The Cultural Meet 2009 will be held on 1st and 8th November, 2009 probably at Kerala Scholl, Canning Road, New Delhi.

 
Office Bearers of SNDP Delhi Union are Under Updation

SNDP New Delhi Sakha No. 3934 (later called as Mathru Sakha) was established in Delhi on 30.11.1997 to look after the interest of the Ezhavas/Thiyyas settled in Delhi. The Sakha was formally inaugurated by the Hon'ble Member of Parliament Sh. K V Surendra Nath. The first President and Secretary of the Sakha were Sh. V Asokan and S Thankachan respectively.

During the last ten years, more than 5000 Ezhavas/Thiyas residing in various part of Delhi/New Delhi have become members of the SNDP. Due to increase in the numbers of members and areas the following 14 Sakhas (serial 2 to 15) have been registered out of the existing members for better coordination and for looking after the interest of the members very smoothly. At present there are 21 SNDP Sakhas in Delhi, 10 Vanitha Units, 6 Youth Movements and 2 Balajana Yogam Units. 

In order to coordinate control and guide the above Sakhas, these Sakhas are brought under a Union called SNDP Delhi Union. Following are the Union Committee , Union Concil, Union Panchayat and Managing Committee of the Sakhas.
